InterActive Educational Software is a software development company based in Houston, Texas. It specializes in producing CBT Authoring Tools which anyone can use to create interactive multi-media Computer Based Training programs. No computer programming skills are needed. If you can 'press any key', you can create multi-media Computer Based Tutorials, Tests, Quizzes and Electronic Books with the EasyCBT Authoring Tools.

The company was established in 1989 by Bob Wight, an educational psychologist with an M.B.A. Bob immigrated to the U.S. from Scotland in 1975 and describes himself as Scottish by birth, American by naturalization and Texan by the grace of God.

For many years he was a Training and Management Development consultant, working in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Arabia. In 1985 he became involved in Artificial Intelligence research, specializing in the use of the computer in training and education. His experience working in Africa and Arabia, where it wasn't always possible to have classroom-based education and training, directed him towards developing Computer Based Training programs which could be distributed to students.

The major problem he faced was that the people who knew the training material did not know how to program a computer. And that led to the creation of the EasyCBT Authoring Tools for non-programmers.

In 1989 Bob developed TutorialWriter (now called Easy Tutor), the first of his Authoring Tools. Then Easy Quiz, Easy Test, Easy Book and Easy Study were released to provide a complete suite of CBT Authoring Tools.

In 1991, with the agreement of Margaret, his wife of 37 years, he gave up his "day job". His time is now devoted to improving the EasyCBT Authoring Tools, and providing technical support to his customers.
